GC University Lahore 14th convocation

Government College University Lahore is holding its 14^th Convocation in the last week of February 2016. The convocation will last for three days, that is, ‘rehearsal’ of the convocation on Thursday 25^th February followed by the Convocation on Friday and Saturday. Degrees will be awarded to M.Phil and Ph.D scholars on Friday 26^th February; and to the students of BA/BS Honors and Masters program, the degrees will be awarded on 27^th February. Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, who himself is an old Ravian, is expected to grace the occasion.

Controller of Examinations Dr. Haroon Qadir has advised the students to abide by the instructions laid down by the university authorities. He has also directed all the students to confirm their participation in the convocation by 22^nd February, 2016. Strict security measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the students and staff and the guests.

Government College University Lahore, previously called Government College Lahore, is one of the most historical institutes of higher learning not only in Pakistan but also in the entire region. History of this institution comprises of more than 150 years of excellence and Government College Lahore has produced writers, poets, architects, social workers, scientists and two Nobel Laureates to name a few.
