In order to prevent students from faking admissions to secondary schools and tertiary institutions authorities in Punjab are issuing computerized ID cards. They will be issued to all who are trying to enroll in any of these institutions.
The information they will carry will include bio-data, and any other information that will allow schools to check on the accuracy of students’ educational history. To begin with they will be issued for 10 years. We know that some students do produce fake certificates or false evidence of their educational records in order to be admitted to the school of their choice. These cards should help to put a stop to this practice. This is particularly true of the more popular schools. It is hoped this will put a stop to this practice.
